Getting Started

Go here to start: http://teapartywire.com/register/

  1. Register
    1. Enter a username
    2. Enter in your email address
    3. Enter in a password
    4. Enter in your name
    5. Optional – Enter a Nickname
    6. Optional – Enter a Twitter Id
    7. Optional – Enter Name of Tea Party/912 Group
  2. Blog Details (Optional) - Sample websites: http://teapartywire.com/salempatriots/ and http://teapartywire.com/nogovernmenthealthcare/
    1. Blog URL – Enter the url that people will find you.   An example would be “jacksonteaparty”.
    2. Select if you want search engines to find your website
    3. After Registering, you can log in to your website by going to “My Blogs” at the top page, then “yourblogname” and “dashboard”
    4. On the left column you will be able to control your website.
    5. “Posts” – this is where you can put updates on your blog
    6. “Media” -this is where you add videos, pictures, etc for your website
    7. “Links” – List of links you can add for a website
    8. “Pages” – Create pages such as “mission” “about” etc
    9. “Comments” – Control comments made by people
    10. “Appearance” – “Themes” the overall layout and appearance of the website, go here for sample view of all themes: http://teapartywire.com/blog/2010/06/18/themes-on-teapartywire-com/
    11. “Appearance” – “Widgets” the options on the side of your website
    12. “Plugins” – options
    13. “Users” – add users, editors, admins
    14. “Tools” – export/import the website
    15. “Settings” – please check “general” “reading” and writing”
  3. Setting up a Group
    1. Go To: http://teapartywire.com/groups/create/step/group-details/
    2. Select Name: Group Name & Description
    3. Set up Settings (Forum, Group Email, Calendar, etc)
    4. Select Avatar
    5. Send Invites
