America’s homeless are going to be stuffed into closets until after Election Day.  Some of you may have seen this link from USA Today:

The liberal-socialist establishments of the country’s largest cities don’t want the growing legions of homeless, hungry and jobless humiliating the President.  On Friday the Mad Hatter-in-Chief praised business and industry as healthy and now his fellow conspirators in media are also being pressed to paper over the damage.  Monday morning MSNBC’s Chuck Todd assured his minimalist audience it’s just part of the Dear Leader’s quick wit.  “An attempt to be upbeat,” is how the MSNBC lackey describes the President’s foot-in-mouth disease.

What’s clear is there are fears the growing army of homeless, hungry and hopeless pose a danger to civic order.  How do you nullify the threat?  Maybe you put them aboard trains and ship them to camps where they’ll be well cared for behind barbed wire.  Plenty of gruel and roofs over their heads and pipe in cable TV and you could describe it as a modern version of bread and circuses.  Will these people be allowed to vote?  They won’t likely meet residency requirements but if they’re happy with the channel selection then perhaps they’re a solid Obama voting block.  After all, elections are also entertainment.  Does this scenario appear far-fetched?  What do you think the government would do if thousands of people in our major cities started an orgy of desperate looting?  Where would you put the survivors of the shootout?

Friday I watched a man named Peter Schiff making an appearance on the Fox Business Network.  For the record the business channel isn’t Fox News and the business channel doesn’t have a large audience.  Schiff may as well have been talking to the walls considering the paltry few of us who stumbled across this:

Things are worse in the United States than in Europe.  It’s what the man said.  So far the closets and wallpaper have disguised the rot.  Monday morning as Europe teetered MSNBC’s Morning Joe frittered away the time with Tony Award winners.  What’s the percentage of Americans who’ve attended a Broadway musical (I have but only when these shows were touring)?  We’re dealing with the, “Then let them eat cake,” crowd (by the way, there is no evidence Marie Antoinette ever made such a statement).

This morning a serious investor I know reacted to a link I emailed his way:

My friend says in coming days some well-connected insiders are going to make a fortune.  Ultimately he predicts creation of a European state with strict controls and he says it sounds a lot like the totalitarian unit in the novel 1984.  How do you get Greeks, Italians and Spaniards to accept the new strictures?  Ask the American homeless!  Does anyone anymore believe any government can meet its obligations and promises?  Do you have faith in any political party or candidate?  The feeling is an unsettling one for anyone with a good head on his or her shoulders (which excludes any self-identified liberals).  The really sad thing is so many people are plainly in denial about reality and buy the simple slogans of politicians and mainstream media.  Maybe it’s because we’ve never given much thought to going it alone.  What would you do if faced with man-made horror?
