Hoax bomb threat at theatre hours before Michelle Obama and her daughters were due to see Spider-Man on Broadway

Michelle Obama and her daughters were travelling to see a Broadway show when an unidentified man threatened to bomb the theatre they were planning to watch the performance.

Mrs Obama, along with her daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, were in a motorcade on Sunday heading to see Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre in Times Square, New York when the man made the threat, it was revealed.

Secret Service agents surveyed the theatre to look for any possible bombs or catastrophic dangers and the threat was determined to be a hoax.
