Arrested: Carlos Henriquez, 35, a Massachusetts state representative, was charged with domestic violence crimes in an incident with his grilfriend

Carlos Henriquez, 35, of Dorchester, was charged on Sunday morning with domestic assault and battery and domestic kidnapping after police say he attacked the woman in a car.

The couple were arguing near Northeastern University and the woman flagged down a police officer claiming that the elected official punched her.

He is currently a member of the Joint Committee on Education, Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse and Joint Committee on the Judiciary.

With this on his resume he’s a rising star in the progressive party.
